Ebay Seller Turbosword - Scamming Ebay Buyers

April 6, 2012

April 6 near Boynton Beach
Getting pretty disgusted with Ebay. Last week, I bought 1 of 10 $300 GoPro HD camera from a seller who promised 4-5 day delivery, only to find out the next day that he sold more than 100 and would be buying another 100 and it would take another week. In short, he was selling product he didn't have. I cancelled my order and gave him a negative mark. Ebay removed my negative remark after the seller protested. I will be without my money for more than 10 days. Ebay protects bad selling practices, which is why more and more of my online business is going to Amazon. P.S. Ebay agreed with me that this seller appears dubious and noted that they would reinstate my rating. That never happened. Stay tuned. This isn't over yet.
    • Phil Parker I followed up with EBay to get my Negative rating reinstated. The customer support and after getting no where, I asked to speak with a supervisor. Now I now that for a fact that EBay protects dubious sellers. Say hello to more Amazon purchases. I've never had a single problem with Amazon. I wished I could say the same about EBay.

  • Phil Parker Just cancelled my eBay account and later today, I'll be getting my GoPro from Amazon. It was $10 more, but I actually got it without hassle. The action video camera will be put to good use at the upcoming Leesburg Bikefest. I can't wait - for both.
  • Phil Parker I did call Ebay and found that the seller removed his GoPro LED backpacks, which he was selling 10 units at $79 each. They too were removed from the seller's list and although the seller had sold 10 cameras and potentially 10 camera backpacks, the seller hasn't received a single feedback from the 20 items he had sold. I PITBULL (me) called Ebay again to report why the BackPack was removed and why hasn't there been a single feedback from sellers since Jan, 2012 !! They are finally investigating this seller.

15 DAYS AFTER MY ORIGINAL PURCHASE FROM EBAY SELLER TURBOSWORD
  • Phil Parker Ebay seller "Turbosword" responses again. I ordered a GoPro camera on April 1, got a note the following day it would be another week, and I finally spot a scam and ask for my money back, which I got. For some reason, he's sending this note out to all the other buyers that ordered when I did - 15 days later. Here is what he wrote this time. Mind you, this guy was selling a batch of 10 GoPro cameras, each valued at $280. He said he was going to buy another batch of 100 (roughly $25,000, which is totally BS). This guy was selling stock that he didn't have, and then trying to buy in small bulk, but now he can't stock - because he is not an authorized distributor or can't buy.

He wrote the following and tomorrow I continue my quest to get my negative rating re-instated. Mind you, this guy was selling at below the price they allow.

"At the moment GoPro has said that our shipment will be in within the next few days. Then again they have been saying that for a week now. We are working on getting everything faster. Even trying to get GoPro to force other area dealers to sell them too us at cost. Just to help us get our customers that bought camera's after our mistake with the listing. We can keep you up to date or refund you the full amount. I can not honestly say they will be in tomorrow or the next day with the info GoPro is giving us.
